One recipe called for rinsing off the pumpkin seeds and one didn’t. So I put half in a bowl that weren’t rinsed and half in a bowl that were rinsed.
The air fry method called for the seeds that weren’t rinsed so I started on that recipe first.
For the baked pumpkin seeds, the recipe called for those to soak in water for half an hour.
Air fried method
Remove seeds from pulp, but make sure not to rinse seeds. Add butter, garlic powder, salt and pepper and mix well.
Preheat air fryer (if yours requires you to do that) at 320 degrees Fahrenheit. Lay seeds in a single layer in air fryer basket and cook for 7 minutes or longer if you want them crunchier.
I cooked mine for 10 minutes and they were perfect. Get the full recipe here.

Baked method
For this recipe, you will rinse your seeds and then soak them in water for half an hour. Then boil the seeds for 10 minutes. Drain and rinse and put back into bowl and mix with olive oil.

Lay seeds in a single layer on a parchment lined pan. Season with salt and pepper and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, flipping after every 10 minutes.

The results
While the baked seeds looked crunchier and were crunchier, the air fried seeds had more flavor and took way less time to cook. Next time I will probably skip baking them altogether and just air fry them. Either way, we enjoyed them both.
