There’s not a country music fan alive or that’s ever lived that will not say George Strait is The King Of Country Music.  Did you know there are a ton of Songs With George Strait In Them?!  If you go to a George Strait show, about 30 minutes before he comes on there are songs playing in the arena and they all have George Strait in the song.

Example Of those Songs

  • Scotty McCreery-Damn Strait
  • Tim McGraw-Give It To Me Strait
  • Wade Hayes-On  A Good Night: On a good night, I can drive to the lake turn on the radio, and find George Strait.
  • Garth Brooks-Ain’t Going Down: Park down by the creek and where it’s George Strait, Real late dancing cheek to cheek

This list could go on and on!

George Harvey Strait Sr. was born on May 18, 1952, in Poteet, Texas.  He eloped with his high school sweetheart, Norma Voss. The couple initially married in Mexico on December 4, 1971. That same year, he enlisted in the United States Army as an infantryman.  During his college years, Strait joined the country band Stoney Ridge, and the rest is Country Music History.
