March 23, 1999, makes Tim McGraw Today’s Country Music Fact Of The Day. For the first time fans of Tim McGraw were able to put ears on Tim’s brand new song, “Please Remember Me” The song went on to be a big number one song for Tim McGraw. It spent five weeks at number one. The song was also McGraw’s biggest solo hit on the Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at number 10.

A few things about this song.  The female vocals you hear in the background are that of Patty Loveless.  Country artist Rodney Crowell also recorded this song for his album in 1995.  Rodney didn’t have a lot of success with “Please Remember Me” as it only went to Number 69 on the charts.

“Please Remember Me” was Tim McGraw’s lead sing of his album, “A Place In The Sun”.  Not bad to have a 5 weak number song be your lead single off of a new album.

The album ” A Place In The Sun” went on to sell 4 million copies, and have 4 number 1 songs
