A good theme song can take a TV show to the next level, but are these the best TV theme songs ever? The folks at Rolling Stone ranked the 100 Best TV Theme Songs of All Time. Let’s take a look at where some of them landed on the list. Sesame Street came in at 50 on the list, 50? One of the best-known kids’ shows of all time didn’t crack the top 20? That’s crazy!
My wife would be very upset to learn that the theme song to “Gilmore Girls” checked in at 45. She would demand it be higher. The theme for “Spongebob Square Pants” checked in at 42. Thank you for being a friend, apparently not! The theme for “The Golden Girls” landed at 38. One that truly upsets me is the theme for “The Dukes of Hazard”. It was only 34 on the list. That song totally should’ve been at least in the top 20. Waylon Jennings sings it for crying out loud!
The theme for “The Big Bang Theory” is one of the catchiest songs ever, and it only made it to 87. Full House’s theme song didn’t crack the top 50, it was 69 on the list. Just like a lot of the lists that Rolling Stone does, I don’t really agree with this one. If you want to check out the full list and see if you agree with it, click here
