Eddie Montgomery Breaks Silence After Troy Gentry’s Death
On September 8, Troy Gentry’s death was felt far and wide among his family, friends, and the entire country music community.
Now, Eddie Montgomery is speaking out regarding the passing of his band member after Gentry was tragically killed in a helicopter crash.
The statement, obtained by Taste of Country, thanks fans for their unwavering and continued support throughout the last couple of weeks. While addressing the circumstances surrounding Gentry’s unexpected passing, Montgomery said, “Nothing could have prepared us for this.”
Montgomery added that prior to Troy’s passing, the country music duo had been putting the finishing touches on a new album. While he believes this is Montgomery Gentry’s best album of their career, he admitted that once he learned of Gentry’s passing, “none of that mattered.”
Fans have been able to take comfort in the duo’s newly released song “Better Me” which is a song Gentry sung from his heart.
