Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers recorded an duet before his death in March 2020. The new song, "Tell Me What You Love," will be on a new posthumous album being released on Rogers on June 2, dubbed Life Is Like A Song.

Kenny's team posted to his official Instagram, "We are thrilled to announce the June 2 arrival (via UMe) of a moving new Kenny Rogers album: Life Is Like A Song, featuring eight unreleased recordings and two coveted rarities from the KR vault! Kenny shares wisdom on life, love, family, and loss in this specially curated collection of music by Kenny's widow, Wanda Rogers, showcasing amazing never-before-heard music from the one and only Kenny Rogers."

They added, "The album is being released in memory of Kenny to honor him and his musical legacy. The project marks the first new non-Christmas studio album by Rogers in 10 years and the only non-compilation/non-reissued full-length album to be released on vinyl since 1991."

See that post here.

The album features eight songs pulled from Rogers' archives that he recorded between 2008 and 2011.

In December, Parton appeared on NBC's Today Show and talked about losing her friends Loretta Lynn and Naomi Judd and still feeling the loss.

Dolly told Hoda Kotb, "Loretta, she was very dear to me, like a sister. Same with Naomi. We were (the) same age, and we loved the same things. And I loved her. I also lost Kenny Rogers — three of my dearest people — in the business, in a very short period of time." She added, "I grieve over them almost like you do a family member. And I think of them, but you try to keep the good memories." died peacefully at home in Georgia on March 20, 2020.

Dolly Parton celebrates her 77th birthday today (1/19). And to mark the occasion, she's releasing a new song. She told The View, "I had written a song a few months ago. I had a dream about God standing on a mountaintop saying, 'Don't make me have to come down there.' So, I write this song about it to try to draw attention to what's going on and what we can do to help it, and I just felt like this song was very blessed." She added, "So I thought I am going to put something out very special on my birthday, and I thought it might draw a little bit of attention for us shaping our lives up a bit in the coming new year."

Parton has often said that she writes a new song on her birthday every year, which makes one wonder what huge songs she wrote on January 19th.
