The trailer for a new movie filmed in Augusta is out now. It's called "The Hill" and it will be coming out later this summer. I'd heard that this movie was filmed here, however I didn't know too much about it. Thankfully now we can get our first look, and I was able to get some more info for you.

The movie was filmed in and around the CSRA back at the end of 2021. When you watch the trailer there are definitely some local landmarks you'll recognize. They filmed a lot at Lake Olmstead Stadium. A lot of y'all from McDuffie County will probably recognize the historic Wrightsboro Church as well.

The movie stars Dennis Quaid, and is based on the true story of Rickey Hill. Rickey overcame a physical handicap in order to become a Major League Baseball player. When you watch the trailer, you'll also see country star Randy Houser is featured in the movie. Here's the trailer for "The Hill" which was the latest movie filmed in Augusta.

This movie looks really good! I love a good baseball movie and an awesome inspirational story. The fact that the movie has ties to the CSRA is a big plus as well. More and more movies are being filmed here, and in the surrounding areas, and I think thats so cool. It showcases just how beautiful our area really is. "The Hill" will be out August 25th.
