Keith Urban: Olympic Experience Was ‘Absolutely Electrifying’
Keith Urban, his wife Nicole Kidman, and teenage daughters Sunday and Faith were in Paris recently where they attended several events at the 2024 Paris, France Olympics. They even attended the much-talked-about opening ceremonies.
The famous family was photographed at events, such as when the family attended the Artistic Gymnastics Women’s Team Final on day four of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 at Bercy Arena on July 30, 2024.
After he returned to North America to get back on tour, Keith chatted with us about the 2024 Olympic experience, “It was amazing. I mean, we got to be in Paris watching the Olympics, me and all my family, and we saw obviously so many great events – volleyball and swimming and a whole bunch of great events, but the thing we were really looking forward to, of course, was Team U.S.A. at the gymnastics finals. I mean, it was amazing to get to be in the same space there, not far from Simone Biles and Jade [Carey] and all the girls who just did such a phenomenal job.”
He added, “I mean, seeing it on television is one thing, but to be there witnessing it and to feel the energy in the crowd, and there was a massive U.S.A contingent in the audience, and you could just feel that they were on fire. Every event that they did, one after the other, they were racking up the points, the points, they were ahead, they were ahead. It was absolutely electrifying.”

Urban was set to perform as one of the headliners of the Big Valley Jamboree country music festival in Camrose, Alberta, last weekend. He even left his wife and daughters in Paris for the Olympics to make the show. Then, the weather started acting up, and the promoter canceled the show due to lightning.
Keith recently posted a video clip of him and his band sitting on the floor of their tour bus and playing “Wild Ones” in red dimmed light. He captioned the post, “@thebvj we’re soooo pissed that the lightning here tonight caused the promoter to have to cancel the show… we’re all on the bus backstage and wanted to PLAY for you all.!”
Fans reacted to the post, including one who was there who said, “Only came to BVJ for you. this was heartbreaking. What a bummer.” Another disappointed attendee wrote, “Well, we gotta take @keithurban anyway we can get it!” One more fan said, “We were so sorry you were unable to perform last night. We were so looking forward to your concert, but safety first!”
