Blake Shelton Gives Back To His High School
Blake Shelton returned to his hometown of Ada, Oklahoma, to give back to his high school. He posted a video on Instagram showing some of his trip.
Blake said in the video clip, “We are in my hometown of Ada, Oklahoma my high school that I went to Ada High. I’m here with a really cool organization called Music Will and we’re donating guitars, a drum kit and I’m even throwing in a Takamine guitar, and we’re donating these things to the school.”
He continued, “And also we’re providing some support to the teachers that teach the kids how to play these things. It’s a really neat idea and a cool opportunity. Music is, I think, an important thing for everybody, but especially for kids. It’s a great thing, so thank you to music.”
Shelton added, “Me growing up here in Ada luckily for me I had my uncle Daryl who had a guitar and I would go over there for an hour a day and now these kids are gonna have the opportunity to do that right here in school and work with each other and create a band situation.”
He concluded looking at a case of trophies in his form school, “Now I’m gonna sit here and look at all of our state championship trophies.”
Blake captioned the video, “Honored to have teamed up with @musicwill and go back to my hometown and high school to surprise the kids with some brand new instruments and equipment. Music is so important, and it’s really special getting to be part of this and help give the kids this opportunity. Thank you MusicWill!!! Go Ada!!”

Shelton recently made a big career move as he left his Nashville record label of more than 23 years, Warner Bros. Records, and is now signed to BBR. If that label sounds familiar, it’s because it’s the record label of Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll.
Blake said, “A huge thanks to Jon, Peter, JoJamie, Katie, and the BMG family for being as excited as me about this new chapter we will write together. I felt their passion and love for music when I met with them, and I knew I was home. I am READY TO GO!”
Jon Loba, President of Frontline Recordings, Americas, and BMG said, “Blake is one of the biggest personalities and presences in media. America first got to know him through incredible, timeless songs and live shows and then fell in love with him and his sense of humor through TV. We are so excited he’s joining the BMG Global family and cannot wait to share his incredible new music with the world.”
