What are the best country songs ever? That’s a question that’s always up for debate. Everyone is going to have an opinion on the best one. People are going to wonder why their favorite song or their favorite artist isn’t on the list. I also feel like everyone’s list is going to look different.
According to an article on StudyFinds.org, these are the best country songs ever. How did they come up with this list? Well, apparently they did a meta-study where they looked at data from a bunch of different sources. The folks at Study Finds looked at 8 different top country song lists from places like “Parade”, “Rolling Stone” and a bunch of others to compile this list.
I’m not going to spoil the Top Five just yet, but I’ve got a few problems with this list. The first problem is that “He Stopped Loving Her Today” by George Jones isn’t on it! You can’t have a list of top country songs of all time and not have that song on it. Many people, including me, consider that to be the greatest country song ever!
Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, none of them made this Top Five. How is that possible?! There are a couple of songs that I think definitely belong on the list. However, there are a few that I don’t think should be in the Top 5. Should they be on the list? Sure, but Top 5? I’m not too sure about that.
