Lainey Wilson Rides In On A Horse To Tribute Toby Keith
Lainey Wilson was a highlight of the Monday night (7/29) tribute to Toby Keith at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. On her way to the stage to sing Toby’s “Beer For My Horses,” Lainey rode an actual horse through the crowd at Bridgestone on her way to the stage where Jamey Johnson joined her on guitar.
Toby’s “Beer For My Horses” was released in 2002. It was a duet with Willie Nelson and it also served as the premise for a movie starring Keith and Nelson. The song was nominated in 2003 for a Best Country Song Grammy.
Other highlight of Toby’s Nashville tribute concert included:
Carrie Underwood kicked it off and turned it up with “A Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action.” Eric Church kept the crowd on its feet with “As Good As I Once Was.” Luke Bryan playfully donned a black cowboy hat for “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.” Tyler Hubbard played “Red Solo Cup” with friends Jelly Roll, HARDY, and Jordan Davis.
The tender moment came in full force as Keith’s daughter Shelley Covel introduced her sister Krystal Keith for a beautiful rendition of “Don’t Let the Old Man In.”

Wilson and Miranda Lambert got together in Nashville last week to film a fun video about their upcoming duet, “Good Horses.” While we aren’t sure if it’s Miranda’s barn or Lainey’s, the country queens (both donning cowboy hats) are standing by a horse named “Cool” to convey a message to fans about their new duet.
Standing on each side of the horse, Lainey says, “Well, you already know that this one (song) is going to be on my new Whirlwind record.” Lambert adds, “We’re gonna share ‘Good Horses’ with you all on August 2, so come on.” Wilson says, ‘Cool’s excited, and so are we.’
The country star captioned the post on Instagram, “Our new song “Good Horses” will be y’all’s come this FRIDAY, August 2nd!”
Wilson played in Las Vegas in December at The Theater at the Virgin Hotel. During the performance, Lainey surprised the crowd by bringing out what she called her “Ride or Die”: Miranda Lambert. The two sang Lambert’s big smash, “Kerosene.”
The superstars sang the new, never-before-heard-of duet that they wrote together. Lainey told the crowd, introducing it, “This song is so, so special, and you can hear her all over it. She helped me write the song, and I’m so proud of the song; we hope you love it.”
