President Joe Biden Ends His 2024 Presidential Campaign: Update-Endorses Harris

President Joe Biden has just ended his bid for a second term in the White House. Biden issued a statement today: "It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term," Biden wrote in a letter posted to his X account. President Joe Biden Ends Campaign Under Increasing Pressure Biden has been under increasing pressure to drop out of the race since the debate with former President Donald Trump last month. In a second post today, Biden offered his support to Vice President Kamala Harris. "Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats...it's time to come together and beat Trump. Let's do this." Harris, is, however, believed to be the Democratic party's favorite for the nomination at this point at the convention next month in Chicago. She was quick this afternoon to announce she is now in the running for the Democratic nomination. "I am honored to have the president's endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination. We have 107 days until Election Day. Together, we will fight. And together, we will win," said Harris. Biden announced today he plans to serve out the remainder of his term in office, which ends on January 20, 2025.
