Shania Twain’s recent comeback in music has been epic as she released a new album, Queen Of Me, in February and has been on a world tour this year all over the U.S. and Canada, with more dates on the tour next month in Europe.
Having sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, her music hold has been strong since she released her The Woman In Me album in 1995. She quickly spread her music from country to pop in her success, but has stayed a staple in country music for many years.
Twain has been busy in the last year promoting her new music and will resume her “Queen Of Me Tour” with dates in Europe in September.
Shania recently announced that her “Come On Over” Residency will launch in May 2024 at the 7,000-seat Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The residency will be 24 shows set for May, August, September, November, and December. This marks Twain’s third career residency, following her “Still the One” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace (2012-14) and the more recent “Let’s Go!” Residency at Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood (2019-22).
Shania talked with Billboard about the new Las Vegas gig, saying she wants to “change things” up and “evolve.” She noted that the whole theater would be her “playroom for a while.” She also said that she loves doing residencies because she gets to “consistently build a show” that she doesn’t have to worry about moving around.
Shania also said that It’s a very different approach to production when you have the luxury of things being maybe a “little more fragile” that you couldn’t take on the road. She loves that “controlled environment” and that the custom element of her production is a “luxury.”
The new slate of shows will take place in May (10, 11, 15, 17, 18, 23, 25, and 26), August (23, 24, 29, and 31), September (1, 4, 6, and 7), November (29 and 30) and December (4, 6, 7, 11, 13 and 14). Tickets for the Vegas dates went on sale last week (8/21).
As Twain marks her 58th birthday with celebration today (8/28), we celebrate her music by ranking thirteen of her biggest and best songs in the last 30 years.
