Late last week Cody and I were invited to Stevens Creek Elementary. They were having a touch a truck event and career day. We got a call from the school asking if we’d like to bring the Kicks99 truck out. The kids could see the truck up close, and Cody and I could talk to them about what we do every morning. Of course we accepted the invitation.
The Kids Loved It!
We honestly weren’t quite sure what to expect. Cody and I have each done events at schools in the past. We’ve talked about our careers to kids before. There have been times we’ve been asked to come and read to the kids. But this event was different. It was a different spin on a career day. The kids got to see different vehicles like police cars, fire trucks, military vehicles and more. They could see and touch the vehicles and ask questions. It was a really cool concept.
Cody and I got to meet some awesome kids who listen to the show with their parents every morning. There were also a bunch of teachers who listen every morning that we got to talk to as well. Any time we get to take part in events at schools like this, we always try to say yes. The kids always love asking us questions, and we love getting to meet them and answer all of their questions.
What was really cool was that the kids asked some really good questions. Some times with young kids they just want to know if we’ve ever met anyone famous. However, these kids had some great questions. Shout out to the staff at Stevens Creek Elementary for inviting us. We really had a great time!
