Maddie Visits Santa At Lights Of The South

Santa decided to try a different approach to get Maddie to stop crying.

Last night we took our daughter Maddie to visit Santa at Lights Of The South in Grovetown. So how did it go? Don't worry there are plenty of pictures so you can see for yourself. All things considered, I think she did pretty good. This wasn't her first time meeting Santa, but things were definitely going to be different this year.

What A Difference A Year Makes

Maddie actually met Santa for the first time a year ago yesterday. She wasn't quite three months old at the time. Last night was exactly one year to the day since the first time Maddie and Santa had met. This year she's walking, she's talking a little, she's on more of a schedule, and she's developing a personality. She definitely showed it last night.

Like I said, Maddie is on more of a schedule this year. Dinner is usually around 6 pm followed by a bottle around 7:30 or so and then we're in bed by around 8. Well, last night by the time Kelsey got Maddie to Lights Of The South she was already hungry. Thankfully I'd brought her one of her favorite things to eat, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

Did The Sandwich Help?

She was pretty fussy when she first got there. We tried to give her some of her sandwich, but she wasn't having it right then. So we figured let's go ahead and take her to see the big guy! Last year she was great with Santa. She sat with Kelsey and I and didn't really seem affected by him. This year, not so much. Maddie looked at Santa for a few seconds giving him that "Who the heck are you?!" look, and then the crying began.

Of course, Santa is used to that kind of thing, so he totally understood. We were able to get some good pictures, and we had a great time, just like we always do at Lights Of The South. If you want more info on it, just click here.

Uhhh Dad Who Is This Guy?!

As you can see, Maddie wasn't quite sure what to make of Santa.

Oh Hey Santa! Whats Up?!

She finally looked at him, but still wasn't quite sure what to make of the big guy.

They're Both Looking! Quick Take The Picture!

This was really the only one we got of both Maddie and Santa looking at the camera.

Then Things Went South

Maybe it was the fact that she hadn't eaten her PB&J yet. Or maybe she was scared of Santa, either way, things went South quickly.

Family Photo!

We were all able to grab a family photo with Santa.

Ok, We Got Two Family Photos.

She might not have been sure about Santa, but she loved all of the lights!
