It seems that August 29th is a very good day for Alan Jackson and his career
On August 29, 2014, A new exhibit opens at The Country Music Hall Of Fame in Nashville, “Alan Jackson: 25 Years Of Keepin’ It Country.”
Among the many items that Alan loaned to The Country Music Hall of fame included the water scooter from the “Chattahoochee” video,
A hand-written manuscript and the guitar he used in his first performance of “Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning) that he performed on the CMA Awards”.
Then on August 29, 2002, Alan Jackson collects a whopping 10 nominations for the 36th annual Country Music Association awards, breaking a 32-year-old record held by one of Alan’s heroes, Merle Haggard.
On November 6, 2002, The CMA Awards were held at the “Grand Ole Opry” House. Alan went on that night to win Entertainer Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Male Vocalist Of The Year, and Single and Song of The Year for “Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning”.
I’m sure that if Merle had to have his record broken, Alan was the guy he would want to do it!
This Alan list could go on for day’s, but the ones at the end are my favorite!
