The 2023 CMT Music Awards nominations were announced this morning (3/8), and it could be a big night for Lainey Wilson as she is the top nominee with four nods total.

Sixteen videos are nominated on the original ballot for the top prize of the 2023 CMT Video of The Year. The top six nominees from the first round of voting will be announced on March 27. The final three nominees from the second round of voting will be announced on show day, April 2. Final voting will be determined via social media and announced as the final category during the live show.

Since 2002, CMT’s Video of the Year award has been given out, and the very first winner of the honor was Kenny Chesney for 2002’s “Young” video. Carrie Underwood won her very first Video of the Year award in 2007 for “Before He Cheats.” Since then, Carrie has won the Video of the Year award ten times, including her win with Jason Aldean last year (2022) for their video “If I Didn’t Love You.”
