It’s about three weeks until KICKS 99 Guitar Pull! I love this time of the year and we even call it Guitar Pull season around here.  What started out as a small concert at Sacred Heart Cultural Center has turned into the concert event of the year. And throughout the years we’ve accumulated quite a few Guitar Pull fun facts!

Now, we get ready for an unforgettable evening at James Brown Arena, Tuesday, November 15th. There is always a special moment at this event, someone who stands out with a special song or story or a memorable moment during the show. This year, just before the show starts, we’ll introduce you to Tierra Kennedy. She stopped by KICKS a couple of months ago and we loved her so much, we wanted you to hear her, too.

As we get closer to seeing Parker McCollum, Russell Dickerson, Walker Hayes, Jordan Davis, Jackson Dean, Ray Fulcher, and Tiera Kennedy, I want to share some Guitar Pull Fun Facts!

See ya at the show!

  • Guitar Pull Fun Fact #1: Gas Guzzler

It takes a lot for 6 artists (7 this year) to get here. Diesel fuel cost for buses roundtrip from Nashville to Augusta for this show costs almost $6,000!

  • Guitar Pull Fun Fact #2: Sounds Good!

We all take the sound for granted, if it’s done correctly, you should never hear a sound problem during Guitar Pull. We rarely have a problem, because our sound guys are just that good! It’s about a $1.5 million worth of really expensive equipment that makes Guitar Pull sound really great.

  • Guitar Pull Fun Fact #3:Hungry!

Three restaurants team up to feed workers and artists backstage each year. Wife Saver, French Market Grille West and Bojangles. That adds up to around 200 sausage biscuits, 10 gallons of coffee, hundreds of pieces of Wife Saver chicken, green beans, mac and cheese and gallons of sweet tea. Also, French Market Grille serves some great Cajun meals later in the day which takes them hours to prepare.

    That’s a lot of food!
