Kicks 99 Guitar Pull is coming up QUICK, and we are so excited to have Tiera Kennedy in this year’s lineup! So who is she? Tiera Kennedy is a new, exciting voice in the country music world. She’s originally from Gardendale, Alabama (outside of Birmingham) but now lives in Nashville.
A Little Background
According to Country Swag, Tiera grew up with a very supportive family that encouraged exploring her interests. For Tiera, those interests included modeling, dancing, and singing. But ultimately, she always came back to music. She went on to write her first song in high school, and she also taught herself to play guitar.
College and Moving to Nashville
Tiera wanted to attend Belmont University in Nashville, but plans changed. She went to the University of Northern Alabama for one year with a full-ride scholarship. It was there that she really honed her songwriting skills. She knew country music was where she belonged, and to do that, she knew she needed to be in Nashville.
Tiera and her family made many trips to Nashville, and she played shows at some of the local venues. Eventually, she convinced her family to move to Music City. And now she’s living her dream!
Tiera Kennedy’s Husband
Tiera married her husband Kamren Kennedy back in 2021. They dated for 7 years, and the wedding was an intimate ceremony in Franklin, Tennessee. Kamren is a creative director, and the two met when he was helping her with creative ventures, music videos, and photos. Tiera told PEOPLE, “We just clicked from the very beginning.” And if you didn’t know, her hit song “Found It In You” is about her relationship.
Singer/Songwriter
Tiera was the flagship artist on Nicolle Galyon’s groundbreaking Songs & Daughters Publishing. After independently releasing her self-titled EP, Nashville Scene called Tiera “the total package” and “a writer who has learned how to write for their own voice at a young age. American Songwriter seems to agree, calling her “one of Nashville’s most promising young singer/songwriters.”
