Fitting that on the same day she passed, she released on this date in 1976 her twenty-eighth solo studio album “Somebody Somewhere” which went on to peak at #1 on the Top Country Albums chart, This was Lorretta’s sixth solo album to top the chart. The album’s single, “Somebody Somewhere (Don’t Know What He’s Missin’ Tonight)” peaked at #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, It was also Loretta’s ninth solo single to top the chart.

She is the most awarded female in country music history and the only female ACM Artist of the Decade, with 24 number one songs, 11 number one albums, 45 million albums sold, Nominated For 18 Grammys, won 3, Hollywood Walk Of Fame, Country Music Hall of Fame, Grammy Hall Of Fame, Grand Ol’ Opry Member, ACM, CMA Award Winner, and that list goes on and on and on.

In 1980  Coal Miner’s Daughter, The story of the life of Loretta Lyn.  It tells the story of her early teen years in a poor family and getting married at 15 to her rise as one of the most influential country musicians ever.   Sissy Spacek played Loretta and Tommy Lee Jones played Doo, her husband!    Coal Miner’s Daughter was released in march of 1980.   The film grossed $67.18 million in North America against a budget of $15 million, becoming the 7th highest-grossing film of 1980.   The film received seven nominations at the Academy Awards including Best Picture, with  Sissy Spacek winning Best Actress  At the 38th Golden Globe Awards it garnered four nominations and won two.
