It Didn’t do so well on the Country Music charts, it only went to number 30, but I guess you could say the rest is history!
This would not be the last time we heard from Morgan. The album, “If I know me” was Morgan’s debut album and featured “The Way I Talk”, Followed by “Up Down” which featured Florida Georgia Line, followed by “Whiskey Glasses” and “Chasin’ You”, which all 3 of those went to #1. This album went on to sell more than 2 million copies and 2.4 billion on-demand streams.
Time for some new music right, on May 7, 2020 “More Than My Hometown” was released on Country Radio as the lead song from a new album. Then on August 14, Wallen released to his fans, the song “7 Summers” and it broke the record for the most first-day streams for a country song on Apple Music. It earned him his first top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, debuting and peaking at number six.
On November 11, it was announced that his second album would be a double album titled Dangerous: The Double Album, to be released on January 8, 2021. Morgan was the first artist to ever chart six songs within the top 10 of Hot Country Songs at the same time in the week after his album’s release, with “Wasted on You,” “More Than My Hometown,” “Somebody’s Problem,” “7 Summers,” “Sand in My Boots,” and “Warning.”
Dangerous spent 51 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, setting a record for the longest run since the chart launched in January 1964, according to Billboard.
