Songwriter Liz Rose is going to be part of the show coming up on March 8th at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center. She’s written some big hits that you’ll definitely know. And she’ll not only sing those songs, but she’ll also share the stories behind those big songs.
Who Is Liz Rose?
Liz Rose was born and raised in Texas. And while she has written a lot of big songs, you might be surprised to learn that she didn’t start writing songs until she was 37. But since then, she’s written a lot of great songs and won numerous awards.
She’s written 16 songs with Taylor Swift, including quite a few number one hits like “Tim McGraw”, “Teardrops On My Guitar”, and “You Belong With Me”. She helped write “White Horse”, which won the GRAMMY for Best Country Song. In addition, she helped write “Crazy Girl” which won ACM Song of the Year.
Liz also co-wrote Little Big Town’s hit “Girl Crush”, which won a GRAMMY for Best Country Song in 2016 as well as the CMA Award for Song of the Year in 2015.
Writing Songs For Big Artists
Throughout her extensive career, Liz Rose has written for many artists. She’s written for Alison Krauss, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Chris Young, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, and more. Altogether, her songs have sold more than 20 million copies.
In addition to songwriting, Liz established her own publishing company with her son back in 2010. They have a growing list of songwriters that have joined the company, including Liz’s daughter, Caitlin Rose. But her entrepreneur spirit doesn’t end there. At one point, Liz also owned a unique clothing store called Castilleja in Nashville.
