On August 15, 1983, one of the best albums in Country Music History Was released. “That’s The Way Love Goes” By Merle Haggard!

This was Merle’s 38th studio album. The first song to hit the radio off this album was “What Am I Gonna Do (With The Rest Of My Life”, which Went to Number 2.

The second song from this album was Merle’s version of the Lefty Frizzell song “That’s The Way Love Goes”.
Merle took it to number 1!

Next Up, “Someday When Things Are Good”, A song he wrote with his wife Bonnie, also went to number one, and in the same year, Merle & Bonnie would file
for divorce!
