The Kicks Wake Up Krew

Last week on the show, we talked about our first Country music crushes.  And it seemed like we had a lot of ’80s and ’90s country coming up.  Then Dub had Keith Whitley on his playlist last week.  And because of all that talk, I’ve been in the mood to listen to some of that great country music I grew up on.  It’s amazing to me how much a song can take you back in time!  There are many times I’ll hear a song I haven’t heard in FOREVER, and yet I can remember every single word.  I don’t know about you, but music can be therapeutic.  Maybe that’s one reason I fell in love with radio because I hope others can find some joy in the music too! So today, let’s do a little Throwback Thursday with some ’80s country.

And how about this playlist kicking things off with my first love?

Throwback Thursday – ’80s Country!

  • Garth Brooks - Much Too Young

Best way to start the drive to work today, with Garth!  And I felt the lyrics to this one! Haha. I may only be 35… but some days I feel much older!

  • Mel McDaniel - Louisiana Saturday Night

Honestly, I know this song… but if you had asked, I never would have been able to tell you the artist!  He also sings “Baby’s Got Her Blue Jeans On”…

  • George Strait - The Chair

It wouldn’t be a TBT when it comes to ’80s country with some King George!  Such a great, classic song!

  • Randy Travis - I Told You So

Another great classic… And such a powerful song!
