Ryan Hurd Gives Back, Scores Gold
After participating in the SIP Hope 4 Hope Town benefit concert at the Ryman Auditorium on Monday (9/16), Ryan Hurd received Gold certification for his single “To A T” on Tuesday, and the release Friday of his five-song Platonic EP.
The collection includes Hurd’s current single “To A T” and “Wish For the World,” which Hurd performed during the Hope 4 Hope Town benefit, presented by Songwriters in Paradise.
The concert raised funds for an estimated 70,000 people in the Bahamas left homeless by the ravages of Hurricane Dorian on September 1.
Late Tuesday (9/17), Hurd was rehearsing for his upcoming, opening slot on the Old Dominion “Make It Sweet Tour,” which kicks off on September 27 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC, when members of his management team and Sony Music Nashville surprised him with T-shirt-shaped cookies and a Gold plaque for “To A T.”
He posted to Instagram after, “THATS RIGHT! Those are Gold Record cookies. And they taste just as good as my 14 year old self imagined. TO A T is GOLD. And I’m the luckiest dude in the world. Thank you to @sonynashville and @rcarecords for the surprise party today. I’d say that you have no idea how much it means, but you absolutely do. Dreams, baby. Sometimes they come true. THANK YOU.”
