Blake Shelton On ‘Tonight Show’: ‘We’ll See What Crap Fallon Has Planned’
Blake Shelton will be joining his friend Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Thursday (9/8) and with these two guys, there is no telling what will happen.
In the past, when Blake appeared on the show, the two have done everything from venturing out to a sushi restaurant to Shelton getting his haircut live on camera or Fallon joining him on stage for a performance. Needless to say, it is always an adventure. It’s also Blake’s first time back on the show in person since the pandemic.
Shelton said in a press release, “It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do the show in person, so it will be fun, and we’ll see what crap Fallon has planned on Thursday!”
He added, “It will be the first time the band and I will play ‘No Body’ on TV, so that always brings some extra excitement and nerves.”
Blake will head to Nashville following his New York trip for The Tonight Show, where he will perform on both shows of the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday, September 10. He is celebrating his 12th year as an Opry member.
Back in 2010, when he was made a member of the Grand Ole Opry, he told me in an interview, “This is the reason that you move to Nashville if you’re me. This is what I wanted from the beginning is to make a mark in country music, and this is the ultimate one, I think.”
No word on whether or not his wife, Gwen Stefani, will join him in Nashville this weekend, but she recently posted a throwback image of the couple on her Instagram. She wrote, “#flasback me and @blakeshelton hanging out – we r gonna be hanging out on tv @nbcthevoice if u wanna watch gx @camila_cabello @johnlegend.”
One fan reacted to her post, “Y’all are the cutest! Excited for this season if the voice.”
The Voice Season 22 with Blake and Gwen as coaches will air on NBC on September 19 at 7 PM ET.
