Suspected Killer of 13-Year-Old Augusta Boy Captured
On Wednesday morning, authorities arrested the suspect connected with a fatal shooting that happened on March 28 to a 13-year-old boy.
According to police, the victim identified as Buddy Brown Jr., was shot while picking up a DoorDash delivery outside the Richmond Summit Apartments on Broad St.
According to authorities, the suspect, Gregory Thornton from Baltimore, was arrested in Pennsylvania. Thornton had been the subject of a manhunt in Maryland for the past couple of weeks since he had fled back to Baltimore.
He was staying in Augusta at the time of the shooting. According to authorities, Thornton is in the U.S. Marshals’ custody but will eventually be brought back to Georgia.
