Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson Perform Unreleased Duet
Lainey Wilson played in Las Vegas over the weekend at The Theater at the Virgin Hotel. During the performance, Lainey surprised the crowd by bringing out what she called her “Ride or Die”: Miranda Lambert, The two sang Lambert’s big smash, “Kerosene.”
The superstars also sang a new duet song that they wrote together. Lainey told the crowd, introducing it, “This song is so, so special, and you can hear her all over it. She helped me write the song, and I’m so proud of the song, we hope you love it.”
The song talks about cowboys and love and is called “Good Horses Don’t Roam.” The chorus of the song’s lyrics are, “I don’t need the map/ I don’t need a road / I don’t need a fence / I just need to know / if you want to love me / you don’t need to rope / you just need to know/ I don’t need a compass / I don’t need a saddle / let go of the reins baby, let me unravel / If you want to love me / you don’t need to rope/ you just need to know / Good Horses come home,”
Cowgirl Magazine posted a clip of the new song to their Instagram, writing, “@laineywilson and @mirandalambert surprised us with a new song tonight at @virginhotelslv! This duo is amazing.”

Wilson told us in an interview recently that she thinks her appeal and sudden rise in country music has to do with relating to her fans. She said, “Every single fan that I meet, I want people to feel like they know me, and I want to feel like I know them. I think it’s just about genuine connections.”
She continued, “And sometimes it’s a rat race, and you get caught up in this stuff, and you’re just trying to get to the next thing, but I think it’s just about taking a step back and just being you. Sometimes people make you feel like you can’t be you, but for me, the thing that has worked is me being completely true to myself.”
Being yourself is what she tells us is the key, “That’s it, and I’ve got a lot of people in my life who encourage me to be nothing but myself. I think it’s (her appeal) probably comes from people who feel like they know me, or maybe they see themselves in me a little bit or hear themselves in some of my songs.”
