The 2024 CMT Music Awards To Reunite Sugarland, Join LBT
The 2024 CMT Music Awards will make some history as Little Big Town and the reunited Sugarland (Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush) will collaborate on what is being hailed as a “world premiere performance.”

With a combined 44 nominations, the two groups last shared the CMT stage together 15 years ago for a rousing rendition of “Life In A Northern Town.”
Sugarland’s Awards
This will mark Sugarland’s first CMT performance together since 2011. Together, the pair scored 19 total CMT nods and 4 CMTs. Sugarland won a GRAMMY in 2008 for Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for “Stay.” The duo made their GRAMMY stage debut at the 46th GRAMMY Awards in 2006, performing “Something More.”

When They Parted Ways
The duo parted ways in 2012, during which time both Nettles and Bush recorded solo albums. They reunited officially in 2017 for Bigger, a studio album issued on Big Machine Records.
Joining The B-52’s
Their most memorable CMT show performance was a surprise performance with B-52s for a rendition of “Love Shack” in 2009.
Little Big Town
LBT has been nominated for more Group Video of the Year nominations from CMT than anyone else, with 25 nods total. Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook will perform together for the 13th time at this year’s show.
According to a CMT press release, this special performance coincides with Little Big Town celebrating 25 years as one of country music’s most successful groups.
These groups join already-announced performances on the 2024 CMT Music Awards by Bailey Zimmerman, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, Megan Moroney, NEEDTOBREATHE + Jordan Davis, Old Dominion, Sam Hunt, and Trisha Yearwood.
Kelsea Ballerini
Kelsea Ballerini will return as solo host of the 2024 CMT Music Awards and will also perform on the show. This marks the fourth consecutive year she has taken the reins for country music’s first fan-voted award show.
Kelsea said, “I couldn’t be more excited to be back for my 4th year with my CMT family to host this year’s CMT Music Awards in Austin, Texas.”
She added, “Hosting an awards show that celebrates the music that the fans love most has been an honor, and I know this year will be another unforgettable night.”
