Kenny Rogers’ Family Asks That Donations Be Made To COVID-19 Fund
Just a few days after his death at age 81, Kenny Rogers’ family has asked people donating in his name to make their donations to th COVID-19 fund.
Rogers’ Instagram account posted yesterday, “Several people have asked where donations can be made in Kenny’s name. We suggest the @recordingacademy & @musicares COVID-19 Relief Fund to help music creators/professionals without work during the coronavirus pandemic. Kenny always wholeheartedly supported musicians, crew members & music personnel. You can make a donation in honor of Kenny here: http://grammy.com/musicares.”
Kenny passed away on Friday night of natural causes at a Georgia hospice. Many stars took to their social media accounts to honor the music icon and his good friend and duet partner Dolly Parton was one of the first on Saturday morning.
She posted a video to Instagram saying in part, “I’ve had so many wonderful years and wonderful times with my friend Kenny, but above all the music and the success I loved him as a wonderful man and a true friend.”
Reba was one of the first to respond to Dolly post writing, “Dolly he sure loved you. What a character. There never has been and never will be another one like him. Love you.”
