Today, Beasley Augusta Celebrates International Women’s Day! This day is celebrated every year on March 8th. It’s a day to highlight the social, economic and political achievements of women around the world.
Throughout history, women have often had less opportunity– from education, careers, pay and more.
However, throughout the years, women continue to break glass ceilings and overcome many obstacles. According to National Day Calendar, just over 100 years ago, only .2% of our Congress consisted of women. In fact, the 65th Congress had ONE woman!
As of 2020, women now hold 23.7% of the U.S. Congressional seats. Not a huge difference, considering the United Nations statistics show our percentage matches the worldwide average for women in office.
Today, we celebrate the many accomplishments of incredible women! We also encourage women to go after their dreams. Not only do we celebrate on International Women’s Day… it’s also Women’s History Month! Many organizations and communities are celebrating the strong, inspiring, wonderful women that have achieved great things, and continue to lead the way for others. There are so many influential women- in fact, here are the top 10 most influential women of 2022!

Jess - On Air Personality
Jess is one half of The Kicks Wake Up Krew. She joined Beasley Media in August 2021. Jess loves to hang out with her kids, Jack and Lexie. She enjoys cooking, football, and murder mysteries.
Mary Liz Nolan - On Air Personality
Mary Liz is part of Augusta’s Morning News on WGAC. She’s been with Beasley Augusta for 27 years. She has won 7 Edward R. Murrow Awards and multiple awards from the Associated Press and Georgia Association of Broadcasters. She loves to travel, take daily walks, and loves to cook. She has 3 precious fur-babies and 2 two-legged children.
Blaine - On Air Personality/Digital Program Director
Blaine is an on air personality with HD 98.3 and Kicks 99. Blaine is also the Digital Program Director, overseeing online content for all of the Beasley Augusta stations and manages the social media pages. She joined Beasley Media just over a year ago in February 2021, with 10 years of radio experience. She loves her two dogs, Cody and Harley, enjoys working out and running, and going to the beach.
Donna Parkman - Market Controller
Donna is our Market Controller and has been with Beasley for 20 years. She sang in a Gospel Group called Psalms back in the day and directed Children’s Choirs. She plays the piano, was very active in Volleyball and Softball, and now loves spending time with her grandchildren.
Phyllis Conner - Traffic Manager
Phyllis has been with Beasley Augusta since 1996, starting out as the receptionist. Within a year she had moved up to Sales Secretary, and then Traffic Manager. She says she’s resigned 2 different times, both times being home for a few months before being persuaded to come back. 🥴 She says that’s why her theme song is Hotel California. 😁

Shannon Shaffer - Senior Account Manager
Shannon is a Senior Account Manager who has been with Beasley Augusta for 10 years, and in radio for 22 years. She’s a mom of 3 boys who loves spending long weekends at the beach with family and friends, helping her husband on their farm, and a huge Dancing With The Stars fan.
Becky Flanagan - Digital Sales Manager
Becky will celebrate 10 years with the company this year. She is the mother of two gorgeous boys ages 2 and 5. When she’s not at work, you can find her spending time with friends and family and grilling out.
Debbie Pretzello - Account Executive
Debbie has been an Account Executive at Beasley Augusta for 15 years. What she most likes about sales is the amazing life-long friendships she’s made with her clients, each one is unique and special to her. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, decorating and traveling. She loves the beach and Disney. Her greatest joy in life is her family, especially her 4 grandchildren.
Haley Dicks - Account Executive
Haley has been with Beasley Augusta for a year and a half. She loves spending time with her two pups, Ava Jane and Chloe, wine nights and weekend getaways with girlfriends, a good podcast and game nights with my family.
Tera Ware - Account Executive
Tera is an Account Executive in our sales department. She has been with Beasley Media in Augusta for 22 years. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, walking her dog, Charlie, and working in her yard.
Delaney White - Account Executive
Delaney just joined our sales team 2 weeks ago. Her favorite food is a hot dog. She loves going on road trips and discovering new music.
Heather Colvin - Account Executive
Heather has been in sales with Beasley Augusta for almost 3 years. She loves to cook and is raising 5 (now grown) children. She just recently welcomed her first granddaughter.
Rebecca Thomas - Receptionist
Rebecca is currently our Receptionist, but in the next few weeks she will start a new journey as she moves into Traffic. She has been with Beasley Augusta since February 2020. When she’s not at work, her three grandkids keep her very busy: Brentley who is 4-years-old, Madi who will be 4 next week, and Deaton who is 18 months old and into everything. Her grandkids are her world and she thanks God for them every day.
