Just what they do alone at Christmas could win them a gold medal for snacks. The Christmas Tree Cakes, chocolate and vanilla, The Cherry Cordials, The Ginger Bread Men, The Brownies, and on and on. They do this around Valentine’s, Fall, and other holidays. Now, they have even made candles, yes candles that smell like Little Debbie Cakes

I’m going to count down my top 6 Little Debbie Snack cakes. This may have been the hardest list I’ve ever put together. Why? Little Debbie makes the best snack cakes ever. I’m hard pressed to find one that I don’t like. While this was a hard list to make, they all couldn’t make it. Here are a few of the runner-ups!

The History of The Little Debbie Company started right in the middle of the Great Depression. O.D. McKee began selling 5¢ snack cakes from the back of his 1928 Whippet. A few years later he and his wife Ruth purchased a small bakery that was in financial trouble. They used the family’s car as collateral to purchase the bakery. Things were so hard on the McKee family, that they lived in the back of the bakery with just a sheet separating the bakery from their home.
Around 1960 they began selling the first family pack of baked goods, naming them after their granddaughter, Debbie. Little Debbie. This is now a 4th generation company bringing us nothing but the best snacks and snack cakes ever.
Where is “Little Debbie” today? Well, she is still involved with the family business! Debbie McKee-Fowler holds the title of Executive Vice President and serves on the McKee Foods Board of Directors.
