Queen Elizabeth II departs after opening the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders’ Museum during a visit to Stirling Castle on June 29, 2021 in Stirling, Scotland.

Celebrities and political figures alike took to Twitter to share their condolences to the Royal Family and share their heartbreak over Queen Elizabeth II’s passing on Thursday (September 8).

After being put under medical watch at Balmoral castle in Scotland, the Queen, aged 96, died peacefully. Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth. He has been named King to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
