Dogs Talking Back To Their Owners – These Videos Will Make You Smile
A couple of weeks ago, Dub and I talked about a dog that “talked back” to his mom when she asked if he was on the naughty list. As soon as I heard the audio, I thought, “That sounds just like Harley.” Dogs talking back is so funny to me, and I swear sometimes it really sounds like Harley says words!
Harley Girl
Harley is my 7 year old pit mix. She is the sweetest girl in the world, but she does talk back. Really, she’s always been the most vocal dog I’ve had. But as she’s gotten older, I swear she’s getting more and more vocal.
Over my Christmas break, I tried really hard to sleep in… but Harley had other plans. So each morning between 4:30 – 5:15, she’d start stirring around. One of us would get up and let them outside. Then we tried to go back to sleep. And it would work for just a short time. Next thing you know, she’s standing next to the bed “growling” and “talking.”
We’d finally give in, and get up to go feed her. They usually eat breakfast around 5 a.m. during the week when we’re working, so we figured she was just hungry. That would satisfy her… for maybe 10-15 minutes.
Because I was at home, she thought it was time to “do that thing.” (We can’t say the word WALK in my house). And she would eventually wear me down, and I’d get up to take her and her brother Waylon for our walk.
Needless to say… my dogs aren’t spoiled or anything! Haha…
Talking Back
Not long after we played the audio of the dog arguing with his mom, I tried the same thing with Harley. And just like I thought, she had a lot to say about it! I asked her if she was on the naughty list… See what she had to say about it:
More Dogs Who Talk Back
Of course, my dog isn’t the only one with a lot to say! I found this video of a Husky who doesn’t like the word “no.” Beware, there is strong language at the end!
And this one is great… because I’m pretty sure Astro is already in HIS bed!
I could get lost down the rabbit hole of videos of dogs talking back to their owners! There are so many good ones. If you have a video of your dog talking back, I’d love to see it! Tag me on Instagram!
Here are some photos of my Harley girl from earlier this year when she turned 7!
Cody's Dog Harley Is 7 Years Old Today
Wow! Time flies. Today, my baby girl Harley is 7 years old! While we didn’t actually get her until September or so of 2016, she was born on April 25th. When she came along, she was initially my friend’s dog, but we wound up with her after my friend decided she wouldn’t be able to take care of her. But that was perfectly fine for us because we loved her the moment we met her.
My Girl – Harley!
We jokingly used to call her “Miley” as in Miley Cyrus… because she came in like a wrecking ball. She was, and still is, full of energy. When she first came along, my lab, Cody, was already 6 years old. He didn’t care too much to have a wild, rambunctious puppy around. But in all honesty, I think she kept him young and moving for a lot longer than he would have had she not been around.
This girl is pure love. She is the funniest, sweetest, silliest girl! Even at almost 95 pounds, she thinks she’s a lap dog. And I’m okay with that. She loves fiercely. Some of her favorite things are snuggling, giving kisses, playing ball, getting treats, and going for walks.
She loved her “bubba” Cody so much… and I think she still misses him. And now she’s taken on the role of big sister to Waylon. Just like she did to Cody, Waylon drives her nuts pretty much all the time. But I think God put Waylon in our lives at the perfect time because he knew we’d be losing Cody and Harley would need a companion to help her through the loss.
Celebrating Her Birthday!
I can’t believe my “Princess” is 7 years old today. After I leave the office, I’m going to go pick her up and take her to Tractor Supply to pick out a new toy and some treats too. I’d take her to Petsmart, but there will probably be more dogs around. Unfortunately, she can tend to be a bit too reactive, so I figure Tractor Supply might be a little easier on mom! She already had her birthday steak that her daddy cooks her every year on her birthday. And yes, she LOVED it! Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!
