La-Z-Boy Donation to North Augusta Store Will Help Fund Utility Assistance
Earlier this week, a tractor-trailer loaded with chairs, tables, and other items from the LA-Z-Boy’s bi-annual trade-in event was delivered to the thrift store. The staff moved quickly to price and set up the furniture. Between holiday shoppers and storm recovery needs, they expect these items to sell quickly.
“Our customers are going to be thrilled to have such fantastic furniture to choose from,” said Administrative Coordinator Bacilia Hernandez in a recent Fox54 News interview. The timing is perfect, as many Augusta families are still recovering from Hurricane Helene.
Profits from furniture sales are crucial for supporting the community with vital services. “While food donations are frequent, monetary contributions are essential for funding programs like utility assistance,” Hernandez said, noting that this area hits families the hardest.
That’s what makes this donation special – it turns used furniture into much-needed help for local families struggling to get by. The Community Ministry of North Augusta accepts online donations to support those in need.
