When it comes to finding a country-cooking restaurant, the little town of Keysville, Georgia needs to be on your list. This past weekend I had the pleasure to visit this restaurant and let me tell you, I’ll put Country Boys Cooking right up there with any out there. I’ll be 100% honest with you, and I know you are the same way. When going to a restaurant for the first time, you can feel a little uneasy because you don’t know what you are getting into. That changed quickly for me at Country Boys Cooking.
How Is Country Boys Cooking Different?
The first thing I will tell you about how Country Boys Cooking is different is the people who work there. To me, people make or break it. Chad and Stephanie Flake, the owners of Country Boys Cooking, take great pride in putting out a product that not only they are proud of, but a product that you will enjoy and wanna go back and tell your friends and family about.
So, you ask, where is Country Boys Cooking located? I’m glad you asked because here is everything you need to know about the location, days open, and hours for this country cooking restaurant.
Country Boys Cooking
6510 Story Mill Road
Keysville Georgia. 30816
Hours
Thursday – Saturday From 11a – 9p
Sunday’s 11a – 4p
While Country Boys Cooking is known for their BBQ and ribs, the hash and rice, I had the BBQ and it was off the chain good with just the right amount of smoke. But, let’s talk about the ribeye steak. They offer a 12oz, 16, oz & 24 oz. I’ve had a lot of steak in my time but I will put that steak up against any fancy upscale steakhouse I’ve ever eaten. I tried to get the seasoning they use but Chad told me that if he gave it to me… Well, you know.
I wanted to try everything on the menu but I know that wasn’t possible this time, but that means many trips back are coming. They also have salmon, and that slow-roasted chicken that everyone just raves about so I’ll add that to my next trip.
Sundays Are Special At Country Boys Country Cooking
Maybe Sunday is when you like to go for a special lunch after church with fellow church members or it’s the day you and the family like to get together for family time. It’s time to add this restaurant to the Sunday rotation.
On Sundays they offer all of the normal menu items that you’ve seen here but they have a Sunday special they offer. This past Sunday it was fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. That Sunday special changes week to week so check out their Facebook page for those specials and check it daily for the sides and desserts also.
As I was talking to people on Saturday, I found people making the drive from North Augusta, Beech Island, Evans, Augusta, and Thomson to enjoy this great food. I truly enjoyed my time at Country Boys Cooking in Keysville and great country cooking restaurants are hard to find, but I would highly recommend making the trip. While the food was some of the best I’ve ever had, I’ll go back to what I said earlier the first thing, the people. Chad and Stephanie and the entire staff at Country Boys Cooking are why I will go back!
