How would Whataburger in Augusta go over? Never been to a Whataburger? This was my first time as well, kind of! Earlier this year on a trip to Nashville, in a meeting they catered Whataburger for breakfast. Whataburger for breakfast you asked? It’s a burger joint, right?

Yes, Whataburger, it is a burger place but they are open 24 hours a day and offer a full breakfast menu. The best part of the breakfast menu is that you can get it from 11 pm till 11 am daily. So if that urge for breakfast hits at midnight or you happen to be coming home from a night out, Why not.

Would Whataburger In Augusta Work?

We have seen some serious growth in the CSRA over the past 5 years or so and we’ve had new restaurants come to the area that we didn’t think we’d see. Places like.

Culvers-Grovetown
QDOBA Mexican Eats-On Fort Eisenhower
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers-North Augusta
Chicken Salad Chick-New location in Aiken

These are just a few and not to mention the number or QT’s, Gas Pro’s and Parkers Kitchens that are popping up that serve great food as well. I personally think a Whataburger in Augusta would be a big success.

When you see the sign off in the distance, you know you are seeing a Whataburger.

The History Of Whataburger And What I Loved

Harmon Dobson opened the first Whataburger on August. 8, 1950, on Ayers Street in Corpus Christi, Texas with on goal in mind. Harmon wanted to serve a burger so big it took two hands to hold and so good that after one bite guests would say, “What a burger!” It looks like he did both. So let’s add Whataburger in Augusta and really make it a success.

The thing that I loved most about this burger, it took a little longer than normal to get the burger, but they make every burger fresh when ordered. It’s not sitting under a light or in a pan waiting to be warmed. Fresh, the seasoning they use, which is their in-house seasoning was perfect. Just the right amount.

I’m not a lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions guy when it comes to burgers. I like cheese, mayonnaise, and mustard and not a lot of that. I wanna taste the burger and with Whataburger, I did. Let’s talk about the fries. Being 100% honest, I wasn’t a fan of the fries. Not because they weren’t good, I don’t like the shoestring type of fries. Just that simple. I did notice after I ordered that onion rings were an option and I should have gotten the rings.

But Wait, There’s More

The burgers and breakfast of Whataburger are really good, but they also offer some serious sweet treats too. Shakes, malts, apple pie, cookies, and brownies as well. I will be upfront with you, I wanted a chocolate malt, and I was going to get one, but the burger was so big that I seriously didn’t have room for anything else.

Operating over 1,000+ restaurants in 15 states across the south and growing. They now have 17 in the state of Georgia alone and 1 in South Carolina. So when they are ready to open a Whataburger in Augusta, I will be the first in line to take another shot at it.
