The Kicks Wake Up Krew

What are my favorite 90s comedy movies? I figured with today being Throwback Thursday, this would be a great day to answer that question. I’m a child of the 90s. I was born in the 80s, but I really grew up in the 90s. I’m going to be totally honest, and I’m sure a lot of you will agree with me, music, TV and especially movies were better back then.

I’ve always been a fan of comedy movies, and back in the 1990s, there were some classics. A lot of the movies from that decade have really stood the test of time. They’re still just as funny today as they were 30 years ago. From the characters, to the classic quotes, you just can’t beat a comedy movie from back in the 90s.

I was watching one of my favorite 90s comedies the other day, which is on this list, and it got me thinking about what all of my favorites are. This list is based on how funny I think the movie is. Also, its based on the amount of timeless quotes that came from the movie. Another factor that went into this list is can I still watch the movie today if its on. Like no matter how many times I’ve seen the movie, if its on TV will I stop scrolling and watch it again?

If the movie checks all of those boxes for me, odds are its on this list.

Here is another list of the best 90s comedies from Esquire, you can see how my list compares to theirs. Check out their list here.

Here is my list of my favorite 90s comedy movies.

  • "Billy Madison"

This movie came out in 1995, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it. Just the silliness of this movie makes me love it. Plus it has so many quotable lines. This is Adam Sandler at his best.

  • "Happy Gilmore"

Another classic Adam Sandler movie from the 90s. This one came out in 1996. I’m a huge golf fan, and their aren’t a ton of movies about golf out there. So when you find one thats hilarious, you stick with it. Now just tap it in. Just tap it in.

  • "Wayne's World"

This movie came out in 1992 and is a 90s classic! I love this movie so much that my buddy Chris and I dressed up as Wayne and Garth for Halloween several years ago. I’ll never get tired of this movie.

  • "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective"

This one is from 1994, and its the movie that introduced me to Jim Carrey. His physical comedy is incredible. There is not a time that this movie is on that I’m not watching it. My dad and I would watch this movie over and over when I was growing up and would laugh every single time.

  • "Tommy Boy"

From 1995, “Tommy Boy” is a 90s comedy classic. This is the movie I was watching the other day that got me thinking about this list. The pair of Chris Farley and David Spade were perfect together. My buddy Sean and I quote this movie to each other all the time. It still holds up almost 30 years later.

  • "My Cousin Vinny"

This one came out in 1992 and its another movie I’ll stop and watch every time I see that its on. You didn’t see Joe Pesci in too many comedy movies back in the 90s, but he nailed this role.

  • "Major Payne"

This one came out in 1995, and I can still remember going to see this one at the theater with my dad back in the day. We laughed so hard, and would laugh just as hard every time we’d watch it after that.
