What are the biggest summer movies of all time? Which ones made the most money? We've officially hit the 2023 summer movie season. Memorial Day is pretty much the unofficial official kick off of the season and a lot of big movies just dropped this past weekend. "Fast X", "The Little Mermaid", "Guardians Of The Galaxy 3", and a bunch more are already out. Every year there seems to be a bunch of big movies that come out around Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. I guess because people are off work and are more apt to go see a movie. The folks over at MentalFloss.com have ranked the summer movies that have made the most money ever. They went back to the summer of 1975 when "Jaws" made $260 million. That made it the first true summer blockbuster. Here are a few other iconic movies that were considered huge summer movies. -"Grease" made $190 million in 1978 -"E.T. the Extra Terrestrial" made $435.1 million in 1982 -"Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" made $309.3 million in 1983 I can say that I have seen most of the movies on this list, and I'm anxious to see what makes the list for 2023.
