Free doughnuts in Augusta could be yours on Friday. Why you ask? Well, Friday, June 7th is National Doughnut Day and we get to celebrate with some of the finest treats on earth for free.
Free Doughnuts In Augusta-How Did This Tradition Start
In 1938, The Salvation Army created National Doughnut Day. During World War I, the “Doughnut Girls” handed out doughnuts to boost the soldiers’ spirits according to FastFoodClub.com. This act of kindness went a long way helping the soldiers while they were away from home. It is still not real clear why National Doughnut Day was created, but we are glad it’s here.
We Have Some Great Doughnut Shops Here At Home
While we do love going to Dunkin’ and Krispy Kreme for doughnuts, we have some great locations right here in the CSRA where you can get some of the best doughnuts around. While we are not sure if any of these are celebrating with free doughnuts in Augusta on Friday, you can still stop by and treat yourself, your family and friends, or even co-workers on Friday.
