The Kicks Wake Up Krew

This morning on the show, Dub and I were talking about movies we’ve never seen.  And it turns out, there are a LOT of movies I haven’t seen.  Some of them were simply because I never had the chance.  Others were honestly because I wasn’t one to jump in when everyone else was SO crazy about a movie. So what are the iconic movies that I’ve never seen?  Well, here are just 10 movies.  But if we’re being honest, this list could probably go on a LOT longer.  Looks like I have my work cut out for me to catch up on some of these.  There are still some I will probably never watch, partly because I don’t want to take the time.

So here are just 10 iconic movies I’ve never seen!

  • Harry Potter

I’m not quite sure why, but I never got into Harry Potter.  I didn’t read any of the books, and haven’t seen the first minute of a single movie.  I know my niece, who’s 15, has really gotten into the series- books and movies.  Maybe I’ll have to watch it just so she and I can chat about it!

  • Star Wars

Another one that I’ve never seen any of.  Honestly, never really had a desire to. I’ve also never been with anyone who were big Star Wars fans, so I never really had a reason, I guess.  I’m also not big on sci-fi type stuff.  I like more realistic stuff, which is probably why I love movies based on true stories (especially true crime).

  • Twilight

This whole series was HUGE when I was in college.  Many of my sorority sisters were really into it.  I refused to even try to watch the movie or read the book.  I guess I prided myself on being “different” and not just one to go with the crowd. Now, my step daughter has been reading some of the books and pulled up one of the movies to watch at the house one weekend. But I didn’t watch it.  I was in the living room, but opted for a book instead.

  • Pulp Fiction

This is one that I’ve heard brought up a lot, and yet I’ve never seen it.  I don’t know why.  Obviously, I was really young when it came out (1994). But even as I got older, I never made it a point to watch it. I do like John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, so maybe this one should be added to my list of movies to watch.

  • The Godfather

I’ve always heard people quote this movie.  And I’ve heard good things about it.  But… just never had the chance to watch it.  Not saying I won’t watch it though.

  • Goodfellas

I don’t know the first thing about this movie.  But Dub thinks this is one I’d enjoy.  So I’ll see if I can find it to stream.  Maybe I have something against mobster movies? Haha.

  • Jaws

Another one that I’ve always heard about… but just never cared about watching it.  And maybe I just never had the opportunity.  It might actually ruin my love for the ocean too, right?

  • Avatar

It’s been the highest grossing movie… and yet, I’ve never seen it. I feel like this goes back to being “different” and not wanting to conform.  But also, not a big sci-fi fan either!

  • The Blair Witch Project

I don’t know how “iconic” this one is… but I’ve always heard about it, and never watched it.  I was also under the impression the way it was filmed wasn’t the best production quality .  But, I might be willing to watch this one… maybe.

  • The Shining

Another classic movie that I’ve heard about, but never had the chance to watch. I know it’s based on a Stephen King novel, so I’m assuming it’s a scary movie?  Although scary movies can give me nightmares, I do enjoy a good scary movie every now and then!  Again, this one was released in 1980, before I was born… so maybe by the time I would’ve been old enough to watch it, it just wasn’t as popular at that point.
