The new year is bringing some new music to Kicks 99.  Some of the new country music in 2024 will include Kenny Chesney, Chris Young, and Jelly Roll.  In today’s world of social media, artists today can drop demos of new music or even videos of them in the studio working on the music.

We as fans of music always look forward to new music from our favorite artists.  As a kid, I remember going to Sunray Records in Seneca S.C., where I’m from, and they would let you play the records before buying.  This was a great way to hear it first.  And it was also a way to hear it because I couldn’t afford to buy the full album.

While full-length albums are not as popular today as in the past, the new EPs make it easier for artists to release new music faster.  Downloads and streams have also changed how and why artists don’t do full albums any longer.

The download and stream world has led artists like Garth Brooks and Kid Rock to not have their music on some services because they want the full album to be sold and this is not for money for the artist.  Garth wants everyone who has songs on the music to be rewarded for the work and not just the songs you hear on the radio or the ones that were big hits.

  • Ernest With Jelly Roll

In December of 2021 Ernest had a break out song called “Flower Shops” that featured Morgan Wallen.  This was and still is a a great country song.  It introduced us all to Ernest.  Flower Shops only hit #64 on the charts.  Ernest spent most 0f 2023 on tour with Morgan Wallen and has been doing a lot of writing.  He’s working on new music and here’s a sample of a song he’s working on with Jelly Roll.

  • Megan Moroney

Megan Moroney hit the country music scene in 2022 with “Tennessee Orange” which of course was about a relationship with a Tennessee football fan.  The best part about the song, she’s from Douglasville, Georgia and is a die hard Bulldog fan.  She released her debut album, Lucky in May of 2023,  She’s dropped a few tunes here and there but later in 2024 we can expect a full new project.  Here she is in the studio working.

  • Luke Grimes

If the name Luke Grimes doesn’t ring a bell, then let’s talk.  He has a played a major role on a little TV show since June of 2018 called, Yellowstone. He plays Kayce Dutton, the son of John Dutton. He’s also starred in movies like, American Sniper and 50 Shades of Grey.  Next stop for Luke, Country Radio.  He’s working on his music now and we hope to hear something soon.
