The Kicks Wake Up Krew

There are a bunch of movies coming out soon that I’m excited to see. I feel like Hollywood has been saving these for the late Spring and Summer. Because if I’m being honest, it’s been slim pickings as far as good movies coming out lately. Or maybe I should say, it’s been slim pickings for the ones I actually want to see.

I’m A Movie Guy

It’s no secret, I love movies. My wife and I love going to the theater. Of course, I know that I can watch most of them on streaming platforms, but it’s just not the same. There is just something about the theater experience. Before our daughter was born, my wife and I were always at the theater. It was one of our go-to date nights. We still go, but now we have to do it during the day on Fridays when she’s off before we pick up our daughter from daycare.

Let’s go back to Super Bowl Sunday for a second. I know you’re probably like “What does the Super Bowl have to do with what you’re talking about?” I feel like they saved these new previews and trailers for the Super Bowl, which makes sense, you’ve got millions of people watching. Most of these new movies I want to see are sequels or reboots. However, there is one that is an original story, it’s a dog movie. Usually, my wife and I don’t do well with those. We both always end up crying, but for some odd reason, we always go to see them.

These are the ones you’ll catch me at the theater for later this year.

  • "Joker 2"

I was a big fan of Joaquin Phoenix’ portrayal of The Joker in the movie that came out back in 2019. The sequel features him returning as The Joker and Lady Gaga playing Harley Quinn. From what I hear it’s going to be sort of a musical. “Joker 2” is coming out in October.

  • "Twisters"

I was a huge fan of the original “Twister” that came out back in 1996, and this is sort of a sequel I guess. Although I think it will be more of a stand alone movie. From what I hear, none of the original cast from “Twister” will be in this movie. While I’m kinda bummed about that, I’m still going to see this movie. “Twisters” hits theaters July 19th

  • "Deadpool And Wolverine"

The “Deadpool” movies have been awesome! Ryan Reynolds does an awesome job, I honestly can’t think of a better actor to play Deadpool. I think this movie will be just as good as the previous two. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are great friends in real life, so this should be good. “Deadpool And Wolverine” comes out July 26th.

  • "Arthur The King"

I saw the trailer for this movie the last time that my wife and I were at the theater. Two things hooked me, it’s a Mark Wahlberg movie, and I’m a big fan of his. Also, it’s a dog movie, and we love those. I don’t know why, we always tear up at dog movies, but we always go see them, and we’ll go see this one. It comes out March 15th.

  • "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire"

I was a big fan of the original Ghostbusters movies back in the 80s when I was a kid. When I heard that all of the original cast was getting back together for “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” back in 2021, I was really fired up, and it looks like they’re all back for this one as well. “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” is coming out March 22nd.
