Alan Jackson Opens His Four-Story Nashville Bar
Visit Nashville these days and you’ll come across bars owned by some of country music’s biggest stars. Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and John Rich have all gotten into the Music City bar business, but another country star is taking things to the next level, literally.
Alan Jackson has just opened all four floors – that’s right FOUR floors – of his AJ’s Good Time Bar, the only artist-owned establishment on Lower Broadway.
Each floor has a different theme, paying homage to the superstar’s hobbies and interests. Fans will find “AJ’s Honky Tonk” on the first floor, which is dedicated largely to live country music. On the second level is the “GT Bar,” themed after Alan’s car interests and showcasing live acoustic music. The “Hullbilly Bar,” modeled after his fishing boat “Hullbilly” and featuring live and karaoke music, is on the third floor. And the rooftop “Star Bar” is on the top of the building with views of famous downtown Nashville landmarks like the Ryman Auditorium. The joint is otherwise stocked full of AJ memorabilia and drinks just like the ones he sips on himself.

The “Chattahoochee” singer bought the property last summer, opening the first two floors a few months later. “I always wanted to own a honky-tonk that plays real country music on Broadway that I could put my name on,” he says through his publicist.
