Midland On Christmas: It’s On, Dude!
Count the guys of Midland among those who do Christmas right. They adore this time of year, as does everyone in their respective families.
Cameron Duddy‘s tribe kicks things off immediately after Thanksgiving. “It’s on dude,” he stresses through the group’s record label. “Black Friday is Christmas, man, and It’s A Wonderful Life always [plays] on the eve of Christmas.”
Jess Carson literally grew up on a Christmas tree farm, and the smell of pine marks the start of the season around his house. “You’d think that I would be sick of that smell of the Christmas tree, but every year nothing says Christmas to me like that smell.”

Lead singer Mark Wystrach loves Christmas, too, but it’s his mom who most puts the holiday pedal to the metal. “She goes all the way out and it’s kind of crazy how much she does it,” he explains. “But to me it was always about the music, like my mom just blasts all the classics. You know, she loves like The Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing ‘Oh (Little Town of) Bethlehem’ and ‘O Holy Night’ and stuff like that.”
The guys will make it home for the holidays this year, albeit briefly. Midland has dates planned through mid’ December before a two-week break. They’re back at it beginning December 30th with a show in Nebraska. Then comes New Year’s Eve as part of Kid Rock’s 2018 kick off in Kansas City. See Midland’s complete schedule here.
