Kelsea Ballerini’s Fans Gave Her The Best Birthday Present
Most aspiring country singers want a few obvious things: a sustainable career that allows them to pay the rent as a working musician, and beyond that, money and fame. Some may also really hope to make a difference in the lives of their fans.
The latter goal is difficult to attain and hard to gauge, but Kelsea Ballerini’s fans put together a moving video that demonstrates what an impact that she and her songs have had on them.
A newly launched fan-driven YouTube channel called “Kelsea Ballerini Projects” posted a video this morning (September 12) that shows the fans reacting to two of her songs with written signs. The first segment, set to “Homecoming Queen?” is shot in black and white, and shows the fans sharing their insecurities and fears, including “body image,” “never good enough,” “rejection,” “acne,” “not fitting in,” “my face” and “I’m not funny.”
But after the song ends, and “End Of The World” starts, the same people are seen in color, holding signs thanking Ballerini for what she’s helped them out with, with things as simple as “You make me smile” and “You are my role model” to somewhat heavier compliments like “You make me feel confident” and “You make me feel less alone” and “Kelsea makes me feel like I matter.”
