Most people know Walker Hayes because of his huge song “Fancy Like”, but the people who knew Walker before his hit music knew a different Walker Hayes. His new book “Glad You’re Here” helps tell that story.
This book is the story of Walker and Craig Cooper. Walker talks about his first meeting with Craig at a church where he smelled of beer and said he felt out of place……Craig shook his hand and said, “I’m glad you’re here” and their story began. His Instagram post about the conversation with Craig is a great one.
“This is me and @craigallencooper (the actual Craig from the song Craig) talking on the phone about y’all’s responses to our book, “Glad You’re Here.” Our minds are blown how the Lord is using our story. We are so interested in how the book makes you feel💪 Also how cool that Laney and Laura teamed up to make this sick picture😂 and yes I have a @wafflehouseofficial phone case.”
“When Craig Cooper and Walker Hayes met, Walker was an alcoholic atheist reeling from the backlash of a failed music career,” the book description says. “Through their unlikely friendship, Craig’s life demonstrated the love of Christ in a way that shattered Walker’s misconceptions of Christianity, ultimately leading him down the path to a dramatic conversion. The two are now close as brothers, choosing to be next-door neighbors and ripped out the fence between their homes as a testament to the power of the gospel to break down barriers and unite people together in Christ. Glad You’re Here helps us discover how building relationships, sacrificing for the good of others, and drawing near in times of need can lead to powerful transformation. Through story and biblical reflections, Glad You’re Here helps readers see how God works in the everyday lives of those who love him.”
