Thomas Rhett Faces His Fear Of Horses Head On
You don’t often hear about a country music star being “freaked out” by horses. Still, Thomas Rhett admits that he has always been uneasy about the animal and is just now getting comfortable with the beautiful creature.
Thomas posted a video to Instagram of himself walking a horse around a stable and then riding him. He captioned the video where you can hear his daughter Lennon asking to get on the horse and his wife Lauren telling her, “Okay, you can have a turn, let daddy have a turn first.” “I have been pretty freaked out by horses most of my life. Not really sure why. Maybe because they know I am a pretty high-strung human being, and they can sense that haha. @laur_akins, on the other hand, grew up around them and now so have our kids. 3/4 of my babies ride 2 or 3 days a week, and so does my wife.”
He continued, “Therefore, I need to get more comfortable around them. Today was the closest I’ve really been to a horse in my adult years, and it was incredible. I plan to be around them a lot more often (I don’t know the lingo, I realize I’m slouching, and I know I need more of a grip on the reins).”
Fans were encouraged by Rhett’s post, with one writing, “Wonderful you are willing to explore things unfamiliar to enjoy with family! Great Dad!” Another fan commented, “Once you start, I don’t think you’ll ever stop; it’s very therapeutic.” One more fan said, “Good for you for getting out there and facing your insecurities. You are never too old to learn something new!!”
And another fan praised him, saying, “Love the honesty and vulnerability in this post the most! It’s okay to admit we are human!” A fan named Lesslee told him, “If you let them, horses can be really healing and cathartic. They love popsicles too.”
His post was liked over 50,000 times.
