Dub’s Playlist- Jerry Lee Lewis
This week Dub’s Playlist pays tribute to the late great, Jerry Lee Lewis. He passed away this past Friday at the age of 87. I’ve been a Jerry Lee fan for a long time. He is part of that group that started rock n roll back in the 50s at Sun Studio in Memphis. Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis, they started it all. They released some of the most iconic rock songs ever.
This song is one of them. There are a ton of his songs that I love, but if you made me pick a favorite, it would be this one. This song always gets me in a good mood. It fires me up, no pun intended. This week on Dub’s Playlist, I’m spotlighting “Great Balls Of Fire”. It’s one of Jerry Lee’s biggest hits, and the title of his 1989 biopic starring Dennis Quaid. Did you know they did a movie about Jerry Lee? Oh yeah they did, a young Winona Ryder is in it too. Check out the trailer here.
I hope y’all love this song as much as I do, and also if you want to see what else is on Dub’s Playlist, check it out here.
