Blake Shelton: Holiday Cooking and Singing Pop With Gwen
Blake Shelton appeared on Jennifer Hudson’s new talk show. He was there to talk about the holidays and The Voice, but he ended up talking about Gwen Stefani. Specifically, how they spend the holidays together and if he plans to ever sing a pop song with her.
When asked about any tradition he and Stefani have for the holidays, Blake noted that being married to a Stefani means serious eating. He said, “Our Christmas tradition has become… a Timpano pasta dome. It’s like this thing that you put like all these different layers of like pastas so there would be like a red sauce and then like an alfredo and some other bull crap and cheese, and it’s all like in this dome.” He adds, “You cook it in the oven, and you take it out, and you turn it over, and you take the bowl off, and you’ve got this dome that looks like this big round crust thing, and you cut into it, and there’s heaven inside of there.”
Jennifer then says, “I noticed Gwen sings country song with you. Will you ever do a pop song?” Shelton replies as the audience cheers, and he shakes his head and laughs, “Of course, I can see me doing that.” He then said, “We did do a Christmas song together on her Christmas album. But, I’ll do whatever she asks me to do, but I don’t want to see her fail, and I don’t see me really being able to compete in the pop, ska, reggae world or whatever that is, do you know what I mean? I can drink the rum, but I can only like listen to the music.” Hudson says, “Well, we want you to do a pop song. I am putting it out there right now.”
